Can Sala

The house of Can Sala and its land

Can Sala is a rural fortified masia from the beginnings of the 12th century in the middle of an 165 hectares estate, surrounded by mountains, fields and forests. It’s the masia with most character and history of the parish and the old barony of Granollers de Rocacorba.

There are different historical scenes linked to the house: the peasant uprising in the 15th century, headquarter and prison during the Carlist wars in the 19th century, plus having served as a shelter and hiding place.

Today the house is part of the inventory of the Architectonical Cultural Heritage of Catalonia and is recorded in the register of Cultural Goods of National Interest (Bens Culturals d’Interés Nacional - BCIN), classified as a historical monument. The refurbishments to enable it as a touristic accommodation have been done to preserve as much as possible the historical physiognomy/appearance, using materials that keep a perfect harmony with the environment. Its structure is made from stone and wooden beams, with very wide walls, up to 1 meter thick.

We are committed to a rural, natural and healthy tourism. We aim to offer a quiet and relaxing space, where one can enjoy healthy food and take time to be with him or herself and the people around. It’s a fantastic place to spend some days away from stress breathing fresh air and enjoying all the services that the house and its surrounding offer.
